Filing and Pre-Qualifying


Required Forms

You must file form DS-DE 9 BEFORE: opening your campaign account, accepting any contributions, making any campaign expenditures or collecting petitions.

Within 10 days of filing DS-DE 9, Candidates must file form DS-DE 84. Additionally, candidates filing for Judicial Offices must file form DS-DE 83 within 10 days of filing form DS-DE 9.

Once you file to run for office, you will be listed as a filed candidate. After filing, you are required to submit financial reports detailing campaign contributions and expenditures. To file financial reports, you will login in on the Candidate and Committee login page.



DS-DE 9 - Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign depository

DS-DE 84 - Statement of Candidate (attesting that you have read and understand campaign finance law)

DS-DE 83 - Judicial Candidates Only - Statement of Candidate for Judicial Office (attesting you have read and understand the Florida Code of Judicial Conduct)

Where you file for candidacy depends on the office you're seeking.

If you are running for a county office, you will bring your pre-qualifying packet to the Supervisor of Elections main office located at 16264 Spring Hill Drive, Brooksville FL. 34604.
