Does a resident have to change his/her voter registration address to my facility?

Not necessarily, a resident may be at your facility temporarily or may have a spouse or other family member still living at his/her legal residence address and therefore does not have to change his/her voter registration address to our facility. He/she can keep his/her legal residence address as his/her voter registration address and simply request that the absentee ballot he sent him/her at your facility.

What if the resident did not live in Hernando County before coming to the nursing home or ALF?

If his/her legal residence address is not in Hernando County, he/she will need to request a vote-by-mail ballot from his/her county of voter registration. You can find out his/her county of voter registration by checking the resident's voter status using the link above.
