Check the Voting Status of a Resident

A resident may not be sure if he/she is registered to vote or where he/she is registered to vote.

You can click the link below to check the voter status of a resident or allow the resident to do so himself/herself:

Allow a Resident to Change His/Her Address

If a resident needs to update his/her address, he/she can now do so online.

Does a resident have to change his/her voter registration address to my facility?
Not necessarily, a resident may be at your facility temporarily or may have a spouse or other family member still living at his/her legal residence address and therefore does not have to change his/her voter registration address to your facility. He/she can keep his/her legal residence address as his/her voter registration address and simply request that the absentee ballot be sent to him/her at your facility.

What if the resident did not live in Hernando County before coming to the nursing home or ALF facility?
If his/her legal residence address is not in Hernando County, he/she will need to request a vote by mail ballot from his/her county of voter registration. You can find out his/her county of voter registration by checking the resident's voter status using the link above.

Allow a Resident to Request a Vote by Mail Ballot

If a resident would like to request a vote by mail ballot(s) for an upcoming election(s), he/she can do so online.
